My sweet sister sent me these beauties as a get well last week and they're still going strong.
I woke up to such a beautiful sunrise this first day of May. The sky was perfectly clear with beautiful shades of blue and pretty morning light. I love this time of year. I did a little work in the garden and enjoyed just sitting and listening to the birds sing while sipping on my morning coffee. Just the way a day should start.
I spent some time thinking of the things I would like to knit this month. I knit my first socks last month (almost finished with the second one of the pair now) and I must say I love knitting socks. I see lots more in my future. I'm also going to participate in the small flower mitts knit along. It's a pretty little pattern designed by Ann Myhre and Leigh Miller, which you can find here. And it's free! And to join in the knit along you can get all the info here. I'll also try to get some knitting time in on my Oceanbound shawl by Melanie Berg. I've been knitting it with some indigo dyed wool by A Verb for Keeping Warm and am absolutely loving the pattern, and the wool. I think that will be enough knitting to keep me busy this month, as I also have some sewing I'd like to get done.
What do you have planned to make this May?
Happy spring! And happy May! :)
Spring is in full bloom here in California and I couldn't be happier. There is so much beauty around and I've been trying to capture some of it. These are a few bits I collected on my walk the other day.
I recently learned of the Steller app and have made my first story on there. I thought I'd share it with you here. This is a fun app where you can add photos and videos to your story.
And after I created this and photographed it I noticed there's a word amongst these flowers. Can you find it? It got me thinking that maybe I should start putting some floral word searches together. We'll see.
In October 2013 I envisioned a floral design encompassing an inspiring quote paired with fresh flowers that were in bloom at that time. I decided to capture blooming flowers during the first week of each month thereafter until I finished an entire year's worth. Most of the flowers were from my own garden and others were fresh flowers purchased locally. Throughout 2014, I photographed my monthly floral arrangements and added a quote that I felt represented each month. This lovely 2015 calendar is a result of my vision. It can now be purchased in my Etsy shop.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous February so far!
Until next time...
